What drives you in business?

There are two sides to this question. The first is fun, it’s so important that our team enjoys the majority of what we do. That way when it comes time to deliver, we hit it with full force.
The second part is more commercial. Any by that I mean we operate by pinpointing and then delivering the commercial outcomes that matter to the companies we work with.
Our industry, corporate public relations, is often perceived as one of the softer or more ambiguous sides to business. And it’s why at Spoke we are super passionate about ensuring whatever articles we write, or integrated strategies or tactics we recommend, always have a commercial outcome associated.
In business, we think if it can’t be measured or benchmarked then what’s the point.

What is special about your business?

Our people first and foremost. In the seven years since Spoke was founded we haven’t had one resignation – touch wood. And we put that down to operating with a clear focus and expectation around what each person needs to deliver.
As outlined in the first question, it’s also being commercial as well as creative. Every great idea is backed by a clear pathway for achieving a measurable commercial outcome for our clients.

What is a little-known fact about your business?

Delivering quality and our appetite to perform. We have a very grounded and down to earth culture that is, to be frank, probably the opposite to most other PR firms. We’re not big on egos or shooting from the hip with dominating opinions. We prefer to stay behind the scenes and let the quality of work and results do the talking.
